Last night my amazing wife hosted a girl’s night at our house with 10 friends. Fab Slabs provided the cutting boards and a photographer as well as some food – sweet, savoury, cheeses, pate, seafood, salamis, fruit, olives, dips and more. We asked them to be creative and create some platters for the night and have some fun while the photographer captured it all. I haven’t seen the professional photos yet, but the photos taken by iPhones look fantastic.
Rather than one big platter the ladies made smaller platters using Fab Slabs small boards and small paddle boards. Each board had a different theme including seafood, Mediterranean, sweet, breads and dips, cheese and crackers and many more. Check out the photo below.
The benefits to many smaller platters were
- Each board had a theme and not a huge mix of flavours.
- These smaller boards could be passed around the table easily so each guest could sample the foods from each board.
- When the food on one board was eaten, the board could be removed from the table and replenished without spoiling the look of the food presentation.
- The smaller boards could be washed easily.
Overall, the night was a huge success. The ladies had a great night and there was no pressure on the host to create and serve an amazing meal. The guests got to sample a range of amazing foods and had some fun being creative in the process.
